Lighthouse

Athens, Greece

2018

Our team was assigned by MarineTraffic to design an art piece that will express their business profile and will be placed in their new headquarters.

An abstract version of lighthouse was chosen due to its role to offer navigational aid and indicate the course of the ships. MarineTraffic aims to be a global “Lighthouse” that will provide the necessary database to make the maritime commercial and leisure industry more efficient and sustainable.

This contemporary version of Lighthouse was made from Alpha gypsum and resins. Its shape was initially inspired by the triangular structure of the building ceilings. The twist of its sturdy volume captures the movement of the sea waves, while it highlights the lighthouses’ endurance against the water.

Special thanks to our long-term valuable partner, sculptor Gotcha Gurgenidze.
